Abunai Strawberry Boy

Sooo! For my very first post, I will blog about a smutty manga.... No, not really.. but read on.. read on...

For the longest time, I thought 危ないストロベリー。ボーイ (Dangerous Strawberry Boy) is all about smut (and nothing but smut). But it turns out that it was actually another manga with a strawberry-themed title that I was mistaking it for. That one's really smut. But 危ないストロベリー。ボーイ is entirely different. Oh, there is still some smut in it but it's rather "tasteful" than just full-blown smut. There are only two stories in it and I absolutely love the second one.

The first story is exactly what the summary is about in Manga-Updates. It's about Kurita Mei, who just found out that her father has always wanted to be like a woman. The story tackles on what happens to a family in a situation like this and how life can be in a society where being a transgender is still something people finds hard to accept. Mei struggles and she couldn't accept her father at first. It's much worse when her boyfriend, Nakajima Makoto, is even more feminine-like than her (she's more like a tomboy and gets angry so easily). She was worried that her boyfriend might just be like her father. Where does the strawberry-theme comes from? Her father is a chef and they own a pastry business. When her father came out, her mother moved out and their neighbors gossiped and shunned her father. No one would want to come and buy from their pastry store anymore. Why dangerous? I have no idea except, maybe because it's quite dangerous to come out and be true to yourself. Kurita and her family are lucky in this story. In the end, the people realizes how sweet their pastry are and thought that no matter if you're a transgender or not, it's what you are as a person and what you can do that are really important.

The second story is about Seto Ayame who was sexually abused by her father at a very young age. So she grew up not caring much for what happens to her body as she turns to prostitution even when she's just in High School. All she cares about is getting money to buy her freedom, and get away from her house. Even when she became 19 years old, she didn't stop "working" for money but this time, she's "working" to protect her only family... her son from a person she admired.

Now this is similar to what I've read in some pocketbooks. The difference is, Ayame (or "Mari" as she is known to her customers), is not in a relationship with the guy she had a son with. He didn't even know that they had sex. Lol! He was sick in the infirmary when Ayame came in after being dragged by her sempais because the guy has gotten close to Ayame. Ayame was hurt and, upon learning that her sempai is leaving to study abroad, I guess she must have felt very lonely and sad. She liked her sempai a lot and, I believe her sempai liked her also.

Anyway, after that scene, they never met again. She had gotten pregnant with his child and, instead of aborting the child, she has chosen to keep it, thinking that she won't be alone anymore. Yuuta, her child, is adorable and loves to eat chocolate, just like his father. So when Yuuta dirtied their futon with his chocolate (he does this often apparently), they had to go to the laundry store to wash it. There they met Yuuta's father, her sempai, Yuuki Namita. It's something Ayame never dreamed of happening. She didn't want him to learn that she still sells her body. What will happen if he ever did find out?

I do want to translate this and I am gonna try it. So if you're interested, I'll be ebil and stop here for now. *ebil laugh*
